On April 28 people in nearly 100 countries around the world will stop and pay tribute to workers who died or were killed on the job.In BC, 160 workers died as a result of workplace incidents in 2008. Workplace fatality statistics don’t reflect the real number of workers who die at work as many workers who die of occupational diseases are unaware that their disease is work-related and compensable.
Day of Mourning Events will be held throughout BC on April 28. A list of those events is available here.
