The celebration of the 75th anniversary of the Battle of Ballantyne was a tremendous success! The march was filled with signs and shouts of solidarity that brought our neighbour’s out of their homes to witness our pride. The memorial was unveiled at New Brighton Park, backed by the flags of our international brothers and sisters, and a proud fleet of ships. After the laying of wreaths and speeches by special guests, the crowd returned to the Maritime Labour Centre to enjoy an open house complete with hot dogs! After a beautiful day of sun it was time to wind down for the dinner & dance. With wine and spirits, speeches and the singing of union songs, it was a perfect way to end the day.
Solidarity Forever!!!
