ILWU Canada has been in contact with UBC about the deadline error for applications, and because we were not informed of a date change UBC has granted us an extension to the original date noted on the scholarship bulletin of June 30th. This extension is for this year only. Future applications will need to adhere to the May 31st deadline.
Please be advised that going forth these dates may well change in accordance with UBC’s required deadlines, and that these changes will likely be announced by UBC to the ILWU Canada in February or March of the current year. In order to stay up to date with these deadlines please check the UBC website, under “Affiliated Scholarships”, the ILWU Canada blog and website, or get your application and bulletin at the ILWU Canada office, or your Local.
Again, we apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused, and wish all applicants good luck.
On behalf of all the members, casuals and pensioners, ILWU Canada thanks the Bargaining Committee for their tireless efforts in obtaining a Collective Agreement for the Union. Thanks go out to Tom Dufresne, Mark Keserich, Chad O’Neill, Glen Edwards, Brett Hartley and Jyalmen Sidhho. Also, a special thanks to Angela Talic for her presentation supporting our First Aid workers.
