President of the International, Bob McEllrath, released this statement in response to the Occupy Wall Street Movement and reports that the group is calling for the shutdown of ports on the West Coast. The International has stated that any shutdown of any ports along the West Coast are not sanctioned by the membership of the ILWU. Furthermore, the letter identifies the struggle with EGT as seperate from the Occupy movement, and stresses the importance of keeping the two unrelated.
